Lets see, you are running ubuntu 14.04 with xfce installed afterwards. Dear Thaddäus, due to my vacation in Canada (middle of nowhere, no internet) I was not able to respond to your email. Sorry about the delay. I was able to issue the report after uncommenting the line report unkillable in /etc/init.d/sendsigs. After I did this xfsettings sometimes has issues, as its process apparently is not shut down properly. This is reported by apport after the next boot and that is also the way you I submitted this report. I am not sure what causes this, it does not happen very often. The same thing also happens on another computer I own, which has the same configuration (ubuntu 14.04 with xfce installed afterwards). Thanks!
