[Bug 134701] Re: [GUTSY] firefox crashed

2007-09-04 Thread Teeth Maestro
I am running Gutsy Gibbons and for the past 15 days have been repeatedly
getting a Firefox crash which apparently seems to occur after surfing
around a bit - on a specific site when I click a link which is a pop-up
initially it loads fine but say after opening a few tabs etc - then it
simply crashes

Firefox 2.0.0.6
I attach the GDB Firefox log which might help someone solve the problem

Thanks

Thank you Teeth Maestro for your report,

Please, can you fill up a new crash report? We prefer to handle and
study each crash separately even if you think that is an already
reported issue.

Thanks in advance.

[Bug 134701] Re: [GUTSY] firefox crashed

2007-08-26 Thread Yannick
Wouhouuu, I did it :) It took me some time to figure out what I had to do, but
I figured it out ;)
OK, here is the log you asked...I might have done it wrong, but now I
understood it, i can do it again :)

Also, ususally, firefox crash, but today, when trying to reproduce it, through
the run command with dbg, it froze, but didn't quit on itself. I had to close
it, then Confirm it, even though a window appear asking if I really wanted to
kill Firefox that was frozen.
==In one word: the log might be wrong, because the effect of the bug were not
the same as usual ;)
But I could try to reproduce it the way it does outside the run command.

Thanks!

Ok, here is a second log.
I did the same step, and, once again it didn't crash, it just froze...But, when
I reproduce the crash outside the crashing-debugging program, it crash, and
doesn't freeze :)

That's OK, it's the way gdb handles the crashes.

Cool! However some symbols still unresolved. Please install the missing
debug symbol packages and try to get a new stack backtrace; to do it
first add the dbgsym repo in /etc/apt/sources.list:

~# echo deb http://people.ubuntu.com/~pitti/ddebs gutsy main universe
 /etc/apt/sources.list
~# apt-get update

Second download the missing packages, in this case seem to be:

~# apt-get install gtk-qt-engine-dbgsym libc6-i686-dbgsym
libglib2.0-0-dbgsym libx11-6-dbgsym

And finally repeat the dbg run the same way you already did it.

Thanks in advance.

[Bug 134701] Re: [GUTSY] firefox crashed

2007-08-26 Thread Yannick
Hello!
Okay, I absolutely don't what I did, but Firefox doesn't crash anymore while
listening to this stream...

I installed firefox Bon echo, and the packages you told me to install,
and that's all. I didn't change anything on the extension or plugin...

I'm sorry...You can close it, and If it happens again, I'll re-open it
:)

Thanks you, and sorry for the trouble !

[Bug 134701] Re: [GUTSY] firefox crashed

2007-08-25 Thread Yannick
To reproduce the crash, it is actually quite simple:
open this stream:
http://old.rtbf.be/rtbf_2000/radios/vivabxl.m3u
And wait a few second. The strem will play for about 5 to 12 seconds, in
mplayerplugin, then, hop, firefox will crash.

I use the regular theme, I aslo use adblock plus 0.7.5.1, fireftp 0.97
and Gmail notifier 0.6.1.

Thanks

Please Yannick, since the retrace from the coredump is useless, could you
please try to obtain a backtrace by following the instructions
on [1]. You'll need to install the firefox-dbg package.

Thanks in advance.
