same problem here on a Thinkpad z61p running Gutsy Tribe 5. I have the same exact problem. Like scarecrow and osteenbergen, I can suspend my T60 using vesa driver with no problem. Another way for me to suspend, is to switch to a VT, stop gdm, unload fglrx, blacklist fglrx, then run sudo pmi action sleep It's a lot of work but it works. Same problem here also MSI TL-50 (64 bit dual core) but ATI 200M card.
