Kernel 3.18-rc3 breaks my SSH server (the machine fails to accept TCP
connections on port 22), which stops me getting my work done. Right now
I don't have time to investigate the SSH issue, so I've had to just
revert to 3.18-rc1 (and reboot the machine when the WiFi fails!).

OK, 3.18-rc3 up and running. Will update in a few days.
The reason I wanted to try a different chipset was because I thought if
I got the same issue with a different WiFi driver, the problem might
not actually be in the zd1211rw but another part of the kernel.

Scratch that, it's come back. I'll try and get my hands on another WiFi
chip and see if it's specific to the chipset.

I can't seem to boot the latest mainline kernel (using archives from
http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v3.18-rc2-vivid/). Here's
how I installed it:
$ ls
linux-headers-3.18.0-031800rc2_3.18.0-031800rc2.201410280811_all.deb
Brendan, would 3.18-rc1 provide an opportunity to test to the problem?

OK, interestingly enough in the attached WifiSyslog.txt you can see the
errors taking place, followed by the reboot. No additional info got spat
out during shutdown.
