I got the same query, but for ata20.0
It might be tied to the discovery of a dvd-writer on the sata cable. At least
it seems to follow with attaching scsi 19 as sg10
(I have no abort, but still a red exception and cmd for ata20.00

Ok, installed kernel 3.18-rc1 but I still saw these exceptions during
the boot procedure. So looks like the new kernel does not solve it.
(but after that, the desktop went black and nothing happens, so I went
back to 3.16 and now the desktop looks broken, g)
And now I have to figure out how
Michael Heuberger, the next step is to fully commit bisect the kernel in
order to identify the offending commit. Could you please do this

Having to reformat the disk and reinstall Ubuntu 14.10 :(
Cannot afford it to loose more time. I am behind of my other projects.
Hope someone else is able to reproduce and fix this.

Ok, I tried to update my BIOS through EZ Flash but it does not seem to
recognize my ROM file on the USB stick.
It's 8 GB, but I read it has to be in fat16 and max 2GB. How can I do
that?

Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer
to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest
v3.18 kernel[0].
If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following
tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'.
If the mainline kernel does not fix
Okay, I installed the headers and image kernel of v3.18-rc2-utopic and
were unable to boot. Boot loader said, it couldn't find the root device.
So, I cannot say if that kernel is able to fix this bug.
