Actual behavior seems worse than with FF2.
Just follow the link to see what I mean: while now the square root seems
to work there is something more that get not interpreted and the page is
full of tags rendering it unreadable.
The problem exhibits also on the other pages of the test:
the pakcage named firefox is only related to firefox-2.0

If you have all fonts installed, try to start Firefox in console after
executing this: export MOZ_DISABLE_PANGO=1 .
Worked for me.
