Thanks for your replay, Joseph Salisbury. I am not aware that this issue started after an upgrade, at least not after which one. I will test the 3.19 kernel as you suggested. As I cannot provoke this behaviour reliably, I'm going to wait for a kernel oops with the upstream kernel for a month
