Public bug reported:
This prevents apcaccess binary from working on platforms with unsigned
char. (i.e. ARM)
Observed on apcupsd 3.14.12-1 (~15.04 Vivid)
This worked correctly in tested earlier versions.
Note: This issue is a simple and obnoxiously common coding error, no
further info is necessary!
