I need to program a robot through USB.

But he is not detectable in my Ubuntu on laptop.
I try make it in Ubuntu at my desktop and he is successfully detected.

The commands after robot connexion at my Ubuntu 7.04 in my Laptop Dell Latitude 
C400 give me:
dmesg
usb 1-1: new low speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 40
usb 1-1: device descriptor read/64, error -71
usb 1-1: device descriptor read/64, error -71
usb 1-1: new low speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 41
usb 1-1: device descriptor read/64, error -71

usb 1-1: new low speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 42
usb 1-1: device not accepting adress 42, error -71
usb 1-1: new low speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 43

lsusb
0000:0000.

Others devices are detected in Ubuntu successfully!
I try to connect my robot in WinXP and it's also works.

I find the same problem in the friend's new Toshiba laptop.

I fix this problem connecting my robot through USB Hub (without power supply).
Through USB Hub he is detected successfully, but without - not!
