Public bug reported: Pidgin is AWESOME, and it allows me to stay in touch with people on:
MySpace AIM MSN Yahoo Jabber ICQ IRC But Ekiga is a nightmare. I would like to right click on a buddy in my buddy list in Pidgin, and select "Video Conference" and have a big window open showing their webcams output, and sending mine. I'd like it to happen with Speex audio, and h.264 or better video. I'd like it to have echo cancellation and work seamlessly on all Ubuntu Machines that I administer. I'd also like to use a real video camera and my TV card, and my condenser mic that I have going through a mixer and into the audio card. You may not think Video Chat is all that important to Linux adoption, but most of the machines that I administer require it. If Ubuntu is ever going to be a first tier OS that more than a gross minority of people use, this needs to be addressed. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- No Easy Videoconferencing in Ubuntu https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/147491 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
