Hello Thomas, Thank you for submitting this bug and reporting a problem with Thunderbird. You made this bug report in 2015 and there have been several versions of Ubuntu and Thunderbird since then. Could you confirm that this is no longer a problem and that we can close the ticket? If it is still a problem, are you still interested in finding a solution to this bug? @davilink: I tried this already, as it is a wide spread recommendation. But it does not help, I did some research already and tried different things already, but nothing helps. But thanks anyway. By the way I already tried to turn on more debugging related to this, but it is really ugly and hard to understand. I have the same problem, but you can by-pass this bug with setting this 2 option a true in the config file: network.protocol-handler.warn-external.http network.protocol-handler.warn-external.https That will pop you a box where you can choose which application you want to use to open these protocol. The config file is in the Preferences Menu >> Advanced Tab >> Config Editor... (in the bottom) Type these two option in the search bar to find them for quickly.
