Kubuntu currently does not have the manpower necessary to implement this
feature as a distribution, so we are closing this report. Worry not,
though, because your wish item is still being tracked by KDE at

This still applies to the Hardy Heron (using the beta ATM), and the solution to
the problem is really simple, but since ubuntu and kubuntu shares base
packages, it may not be the best idea to have kubuntu do it's own thing with
/etc/fstab.
Anyway, you can do what ubuntu does with UUID= using /d
