It occurs while playing mp3's such that using the arrow keys to navigate
a recording make playback stutter so much that it renders the navigation
almost pointless.

The video stutter doesn't appear to occur if you avoid using the arrow
keys to fwd/rev and only use the mouse pointer to relocate the video.
