[Bug 152214] Re: IBM Thinkpad T40 trackpoint (pointing stick) misconfigured
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 282387 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/282387 .fdi file fixes scrolling. After suspend/resume, this is a brute force solution to get it going again: sudo rmmod psmouse sudo modprobe psmouse As described here (with a more permanent version of this fix too): http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/How_to_configure_the_TrackPoint#Reactivate_Scrolling_after_suspend.2Fresume ** This bug has been marked a duplicate of bug 282387 scrollwheel emulation breaks after suspend with 2.6.27-7 -- IBM Thinkpad T40 trackpoint (pointing stick) misconfigured https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/152214 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 152214] Re: IBM Thinkpad T40 trackpoint (pointing stick) misconfigured
I was able to get TrackPoint scrolling to work with the .fdi file. However, it stops working after a suspend/resume cycle. The .fdi fix does not work on my X200 (ubuntu 8.10). [Bug 152214] Re: IBM Thinkpad T40 trackpoint (pointing stick) misconfigured
This fix works. Now, if I can find out why the backlight does not come back on after a resume, and why X randomly dies (and restarts, causing all work to be lost), my X40 will be as good as it was under Heron. [Bug 152214] Re: IBM Thinkpad T40 trackpoint (pointing stick) misconfigured
I can confirm this on a ThinkPad X60. Following the description at http://psung.blogspot.com/2008/09/scrolling-with-thinkpads-trackpoint- in.html fixed the scrolling issues.
