Public bug reported:

I've installed Gutsy RC. I have a Nvidia Geforce 8600 with two DVI flat
panels Samsung SyncMaster 223BW with 1680x1050 resolution.

These are the problems I'm experiencing:

- the card is not automatically detected and is configured as Vesa
800x600 (single monitor)

- if I select by hand the nv driver I can use the correct resolution but
I'm unable to specify a setting for the second monitor (i.e.: there is
no option available at all)

- if I install proprietary drivers X does not start anymore and after a
few failures it returns to lowres Vesa mode

This is the output from lspci -v:
02:00.0 VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation GeForce 8600 GT (rev a1)
(prog-if 00 [VGA])
Flags: bus master, fast devsel, latency 0, IRQ 24
        Memory at fa000000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=16M]
        Memory at d0000000 (64-bit, prefetchable) [size=256M]
        Memory at f8000000 (64-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=32M]

Expansion ROM at fbbe0000 [disabled] [size=128K]
Capabilities: [60] Power Management version 2
Capabilities: [68] Message Signalled Interrupts: Mask- 64bit+ Queue=0/0
Enable-
Capabilities: [78] Express Endpoint IRQ 0

and lspci -n:
02:00.0 0300: 10de:0402 (rev a1) (prog-if 00 [VGA])

So I'm stuck with a single monitor :(
