Installed from kubuntu gutsy gibbon dvd and adept still proposes version upgrades to gutsy gibbon. What I could add is that the upgrade didn't want to start at all to begin with -- after clicking on it, it terminated w/o any message before prompting for a password. But I think this is the first time I had updates and click on the System Tray Adept notifier. In fact, the updates were a bunch of Adept ones (ie 2.1.3ubuntu17 2.1.3ubuntu17.1) And then right after that was done it announced a new version of Kubuntu. Just like The Bruce I did it hoping it will sync up. This problem only surfaced when I changed sessions to KDE and clicked on the upgrade icon. That icon opened up adept. I followed the steps assuming that perhaps there was some sort of new upgrade that KDE needed, and that's when I ran into the error. Hope sheds some light on the problem!
