I'm not sure whether this is width-related; I see misrenderd also 'S',
'v', '2', and some others, and I believe (but unfortunately I don't have
a screenshot) that under some circumstances, the set of affected glyphs
changes.

If it will be of some use, I can test patches, do some basic
debugging, or provide remote access to RS600 machine.

R300 texture alignment partial fix

As Marek stated, this issue is related to texture alignment. After
playing with mesa/src/gallium/drivers/r300/r300_texture_desc.c (see
attached patch), I was able to get things rendering properly -- font
issue disappeared with setting 'height' alignment of 8bpp textures to

Why should this be a duplicate of

Does Alexdeucher receive this post here - or do I need to post this

Every Ubuntu-distro I tried has graphical issues directly after install,
see here for example:

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-
ati/+bug/1434826

Debian also have had problems, also had problems with lot of other
distros. Now I am on Mint Mate, where the desktop works - but no games,
games have graphical problems and are unusable:

https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=35457
(scroll down)

I attach some pictures.

Any ideas how to fix? Is it Mesa-related? radeon-driver related? Any
ideas?

I changed nomodeset at startup with shift, e - but it resulted

I furthermore created xorg.conf, edited it with nano at the right place and

[Bug 1547235] Re: 1002:7942 [Samsung NP-R40FY0E/SEG] Graphical corruption

2016-02-20 Thread Christopher M. Penalver
Micha, given the package has been switched, could you please run the following
command once from a terminal by ensuring you have the package xdiagnose
installed, and that you click the Yes button for attaching additional, relevant
debugging information:
apport-collect -p xorg 1547235
