[Bug 1554895] Re: Erratic mouse behaviour

2016-06-23 Thread Christopher M. Penalver
Theo, as per http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/products/Laptops-and-
netbooks/Yoga-Series/Yoga-2-13-Notebook-
Lenovo?linkTrack=GPS%253ABody_Search%2BProducts==false an
update to your computer's buggy, insecure, and outdated BIOS is
available (96CN31WW). When you update to this following
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BIOSUpdate how does this improve the
situation?

For more on BIOS updates and linux, please see
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs#Bug_reporting_etiquette
.

Please note your current BIOS is already in the Bug Description, so
posting this on the old BIOS would not be helpful.

Also, you don't have to create a new bug report.

Once the BIOS is updated, if the problem is still reproducible:
1) Please provide the output of the following terminal command (not perform an
apport-collect):
sudo dmidecode -s bios-version && sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date
2) Please make a comment specifically advising on if there was an improvement
or not.
3) Please mark this report Status Confirmed.

If it's not reproducible, please mark this as Invalid.

Thank you for your understanding.

[Bug 1554895] Re: Erratic mouse behaviour

2016-06-12 Thread Theo
apport information

** Tags added: apport-collected compiz-0.9 ubuntu

** Description changed:

I am running Ubuntu 14.04 on a Lenovo Yoga 2 13 and, after a few minutes
of working, the mouse pointer goes crazy. It goes to the bottom right
corner of the screen and flickers, clicking stuff randomly.

  * Adding a USB mouse and deactivating the trackpad makes no difference.
  * Tried Kubuntu 15.10, problem still there.
  * Tried suggestions in

  http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2235704

http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2229831=2=13451930#post13451930

  without success also.

As mentioned by other users, my laptop is currently unusable. I do not
want to switch to Windows but, given the current hardware I have, I do
not see how I can resolve this.

[Bug 1554895] Re: Erratic mouse behaviour

2016-06-08 Thread Christopher M. Penalver
Theo, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu better.

Could you please run the following command once from a terminal by ensuring you
have the package xdiagnose installed, and that you click the Yes button for
attaching additional debugging information:
apport-collect -p xorg BUGNUMBER

When reporting xorg related bugs in the future, please do so via the
above method. You can learn more about this functionality at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ReportingBugs.

[Bug 1554895] Re: Erratic mouse behaviour

2016-05-13 Thread Theo
Chromium is completely impossible to work with, even during a session
when the mouse problem has not appeared (yet). Chromium keeps zooming in
and out way before the mouse gets stuck in the corner.

I am now wondering if this issue can be addressed here...

[Bug 1554895] Re: Erratic mouse behaviour

2016-04-13 Thread Theo
Adding to forensics analysis:

* I thought it had to do with Viber Desktop I was using (when you get the
problem, even if the mouse goes back to normal, Viber becomes unusable until
you restart - you get random characters).
* pdfViewer also becomes unusable no matter if the mouse has returned to normal
state.
