[Bug 1582044] Re: package mysql-server-5.7 (not installed) failed to install/upgrade: subprocess new pre-installation script returned error exit status 1
Mariadb-10.0 was installed on the system. I purged all mariadb packages. Then when I try to install mysql - it should not error out without showing the decision for user action. If /var/lib/mysql/debian-10.0 file needs to be removed, the installer should actually ask it. ** Changed in: mysql-5.7 (Ubuntu) Status: Invalid => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1582044 Title: package mysql-server-5.7 (not installed) failed to install/upgrade: subprocess new pre-installation script returned error exit status 1 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mysql-5.7/+bug/1582044/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

It looks like this is intentional: Preparing to unpack .../mysql-server-5.7_5.7.12-0ubuntu1_amd64.deb ... Aborting downgrade from (at least) 10.0 to 5.7. If are sure you want to downgrade to 5.7, remove the file /var/lib/mysql/debian-*.flag and try installing again. Also note this message repeated often in your logs, perhaps your network controller is unhappy: [18317.930518] r8169 :01:00.0 enp1s0: rtl_counters_cond == 1 (loop: 1000, delay: 10). ** Information type changed from Private Security to Public ** Changed in: mysql-5.7 (Ubuntu) Status: New => Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1582044 Title: package mysql-server-5.7 (not installed) failed to install/upgrade: subprocess new pre-installation script returned error exit status 1 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mysql-5.7/+bug/1582044/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
