Public bug reported:

I have Ubuntu 16.04 installed and fully updated. I did a clean install.
The problem is, every time i install a new app, be it via software
center or apt or deb file, when i search it in dash right after the
installation, the app doesn't show up. After a logout and log back the
app starts to show up on dash. I did several clean install to reproduce
the issue and the issue persisted.

Ubuntu Release: Ubuntu 16.04 LTS
Unity Version: 7.4.0+16.04.20160415-0ubuntu1
Expected: To show newly installed app in dash after installation is completed
Happened instead: Apps not showing in dash after installation
Current Workaround: Logout and log-back again or reboot

** Affects: unity (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
