I have the same issue. I can delete and create folders in MTP mode but
can not copy files to the phone.

If I put the smartphone in PTP mode, it get recognized as a camera.
But if I put the it in either MTP or charge mode, I always get the two options
for both MTP and PTP.
In charge node, obviously, no file trasnfer can take place and "kio" helper
simply fails.
