Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: rhythmbox

If I start Rhythmbox from the Application menu or from a launcher as an
application (without terminal), then it does not play an MMS stream at
http://202.7.7.90/rnz-cfm (or one or two others that I tried). It pops
up a dialog box saying "Couldn't start playback. Unknown playback error"

It does play the other internet radio stations supplied as standard with
Ubuntu.

If I start Rhythmbox from a terminal window, or from a panel launcher as
an 'Application in Terminal', then it does play the stream correctly. It
also prints the following in the terminal window "JACK tmpdir identified
as [/dev/shm]".

How can a capture the debug output from Rhythmbox without having a
terminal?

Gutsy, updated 2007-11-01
libmms0 0.3-5ubuntu2
gstreamer0.10-plugins-bad 0.10.5-4ubuntu1

Perhaps just a problem with the bad plugin?

** Affects: rhythmbox (Ubuntu)
