Public bug reported: Binary package hint: dolphin
When the mouse cursor is hovered on a file in Dolphin, information about the file is shown in the status bar. When, however, the information string doesn't fit in one text line (for instance because of a long filename, or because the Dolphin window is narrow), the status bar's height is doubled or otherwise increased to make the whole text fit, rather than employing an ellipsis. This is especially annoying in 'Details' view, as it may completely prevent selecting the last file(s) shown by left-clicking on it. As well, it creates an awkward "flashing" effect as the mouse cursor hovers on the file increasing the status bar's height, which results in the mouse not being on the file anymore, but on the status bar, which makes the status bar shrink back to its normal size... repeat the process ad libitum. A new line seems to only be issued when the overflowing text contains spaces, so a filename without spaces will, at most, cause the status bar to double in height (filename + size + document type), while a filename containing spaces may increase the height n-fold. ** Affects: dolphin (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Dolphin's status bar changes height to fit text, potentially preventing selection https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/159544 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
