Hi Joseph, This patch has been already accepted by the maintainer for alsa-devel and would be a part of v4.8-rc5 kernel release. For Xenial, the oem- audio-hda-daily-dkms_0.201608310502~ubuntu16.04.1_all.deb package fixes the issue. So, I don't see the need to submit this patch to the kernel team mailing list (kernel-t...@lists.ubuntu.com).
