I'm not sure how to find the answer to your question. The power measurement was made using powertop. lsusb says "Validity Sensors, Inc. Fingerprint Reader" Does that help? This crazy problem still exists under 16.10. upd If I disable fingerprint scanner in BIOS the problem is gone. But when it's enabled the power consumption is high and the device is active all the time: 5.55 W100,0%DeviceUSB device: usb-device-138a-0017 It also blinks for a long after I enroll.
