Ubuntu better. We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to
look at all reported bugs in a timely manner. There have been many
changes in Ubuntu since that time you reported the bug and your problem
may have been fixed
Same error message here (vmware-player-kernel-
modules-2.6.15-29_2.6.15.11-13, vmware-player 1.0.1-4). Needed to roll
back to kernel version 2.6.15-28 (and corresponding vmware-player-
kernel-modules-2.6.15-28_2.6.15.10-11) to start vmware-player.

Snam, going back to the older vmware-player-kernel-modules-2.6.15-29
(2.6.15.11-12) would work, but that's disappeared from the archives
already so unless you have an old copy somewhere, it's not possible.
What I did was remove vmware-player and install it from a tarball
provided by VMware. I
Does someone have a workaround for this bug, so I can run VMware Player
while this bug isn;t fixed?
How can I go back to vmware-player-kernel-modules-2.6.15-28? I think
that might be a workaround, but I don't know how to do that
