Public bug reported: Today I've noticed that Steam can't install/update anything. For instance, when running steam for the first time I'm getting: > Fatal Error: Steam needs to be online to update. Please confirm your network > connection and try again.
I've seen DNS-related updated recently, they might be a reason for this issue. I don't have any issues in browsers though. Workaround is to change `127.0.0.53` to `8.8.8.8` in `/etc/resolv.conf` manually. I'm connected to the Internet via router using Ethernet cable and I've manually specified DNS servers `8.8.8.8` and `8.8.4.4` in nm-applet's (I believe it is an applet) GUI. ** Affects: network-manager (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: zesty -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1647159 Title: Steam can't install/update itself or any games (zesty) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/network-manager/+bug/1647159/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
