This package is currently KDE4 based, and depends on the KDE library:
libkcddb4 (>= 4:4.3.4)
and
libkcompactdisc4 (>= 4:4.8.80)
libkcddb4 is replaced by libkf5cddb5 in KDE applications 16.12 now in
zesty
Upstream maintainer (also of K3B) said that:
"K3b will be released as KDE Applications 17.04.0! and it is able to rip
CD ;-)"
which is true, and where development is moving now.
So seems Audex is falling by the wayside.

The KF3 KF5 port that is blocked by the libkcddb4 and libkcompactdisc4
requirement of Audex, itself includes the CD ripping functionality of
Audex.
CD ripping is also well catered for in other applications available in
the ubuntu archive.
