So, that was a lot of fun. Up to 4.4.0-53 - trackpad worked fine. I couldn't easily find any other kernel versions until 4.4.0-58 and that one the trackpad didn't work correctly. 4.4.0-58 was the first to have the AlpsPS/2 devices installed. If you can point me to 54-57 I can try those too.
