Hi Nicholas, at the moment this is non reproducible for us. If you are really running into the same issue, could you a) test the workaround to fix the install that Seth posted before b) provide further into about the actual error - at least the full console content of when you try a would be nice (DpkgTerminalLog was not attached in the initial bug report) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1692247 Title: package iproute2 4.3.0-1ubuntu3.16.04.1 failed to install/upgrade: package iproute2 is not ready for configuration cannot configure (current status 'half-installed') To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/iproute2/+bug/1692247/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1692247] Re: package iproute2 4.3.0-1ubuntu3.16.04.1 failed to install/upgrade: package iproute2 is not ready for configuration cannot configure (current status 'half-installed')
Hello all, this bug also prevents me from installing other OS updates. If anyone can relate to this, then I think security may actually be an issue if some important security updates cannot subsequently be installed. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1692247 Title: package iproute2 4.3.0-1ubuntu3.16.04.1 failed to install/upgrade: package iproute2 is not ready for configuration cannot configure (current status 'half-installed') To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/iproute2/+bug/1692247/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1692247] Re: package iproute2 4.3.0-1ubuntu3.16.04.1 failed to install/upgrade: package iproute2 is not ready for configuration cannot configure (current status 'half-installed')
The update that was released was for bug 1668813 and certainly does not affect installation of the package as it only changes a man-page. Maybe iproute2 has issues upgrading in general yet since it is not updated so often we don't see it? Since I could not reproduce for now I hope that the combined reporters find the critical bit that triggers it for them so one can debug.

I had an image round with the older iproute2 4.3.0-1ubuntu3, so I tried an update but it worked just fine. Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but this appears to be a "regular" (non-security) bug. I have unmarked it as a security issue since this bug does not show evidence of allowing attackers to cross privilege boundaries nor directly cause loss of data/privacy.
