I'm open to alternative implementations, but what I do care about is hibernation--especially that it works out of the box. It's a useful feature, especially for laptops, because it uses no power, while suspend has to keep the RAM powered, resulting in a constant drain. Automatic-

I'm not sure this is something that we actually want to do anymore. Swap for swap sake has become nearly useless over the last decade or two, and out of the box Ubuntu doesn't even have hibernation enabled anymore. A lot of recent systems have a ton of ram and it's a shame to dedicate that much
