Nope, this is in fact /dev/mapper/mpatha-part2 that is missing when fsck runs. fsck.jfs is present on at least some initrd after installing. Looks like this is racy, but it's not obvious to me why. Multipath-tools looks to be installing everything needed *before* /scripts/local runs fsck, by doing
