Sounds like some device wake your system up after you shutdown. I’ll start with removing driver (kernel modules) one by one to find the culprit. Does the BIOS have anything related to autoboot? e.g. Wake of Lan. Thanks for your suggestions. I tried them all for 4.10.0-35-generic and 4.14.0-rc2 without any change to the issues. I noticed that the shutdown (until the power LED turns off) is very quick (1 to 2 seconds). Did this issue start happening after an update/upgrade? Was there a prior kernel version where you were not having this particular problem?
