Yes, we had the discussion but it wasn't resolved. There is a difference
in opinion among Ubuntu Developers on whether it should be required. I'm
ok with this specific question being forwarded to the Tech Board.

main. We had this discussion before. This is especially important for
packages where the upstream isn't that pedantic with symbols changes.

run as a simple test, either during the build or the autopkg test?
- The build log is non verbose, not showing compiler options. This is now at
least recommended by the Debian policy. Please could you add that?
