The disk mounter applet is behaving as intended. It was added to the
Redmond layout by user request to better mimic Windows behaviour during
the 17.10 development cycle. One solution it to remove it from the
Redmond layout.

Yousuf, what do you mean by "i have to remove each of these icons
manually"? Do you get one applet for each partition? Or how fo you
remove those icons?

I agree that advanced control on what is showed would be nice to have.
