This looks like it is due to the stricter environment used by Wayland which is the new default display server in Ubuntu 17.10.
As a workaround, log out. Click your name on the login screen then click the gear button. Choose 'Ubuntu on Xorg' and then enter your password to log into the traditional display server instead of Wayland. Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. The issue you are reporting is an upstream one and it would be nice if somebody having it could send the bug to the developers of the software by following the instructions at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Upstream/GNOME. If you have done so, please tell us the number of the upstream bug (or the link), so we can add a bugwatch that will inform us about its status. Thanks in advance. ** Tags added: wayland ** Summary changed: - there is no way to stop the clock under gnome + Minimizing Aisleriot does not pause the game under Wayland -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1729164 Title: Minimizing Aisleriot does not pause the game under Wayland To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/aisleriot/+bug/1729164/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
