[Bug 1734596] Re: installer crashed upon first install to brand new samsung 500gb SSD
It appears unplugging my ssd from the Marvel 88se9123 sata3 controller and pluggung it into a bog standard sata port makes linux and the drive work great - except slow as not 6gb. No errors in install or in dmesg. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1734596 Title: installer crashed upon first install to brand new samsung 500gb SSD To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubiquity/+bug/1734596/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1734596] Re: installer crashed upon first install to brand new samsung 500gb SSD
I beg to differ. The drive is brand new and fine. Took me some days to work it out, as the issues do not present themselves in Windows. The issue is dodgy drivers and firmware in linux for the SATA controller on this motherboard.
