I encountered this issue also. I downloaded ubuntu-17.10.1-desktop- amd64.iso and created USB disk and tried to install Ubuntu using it. I did not specify anything, just pressing and selecting whatever is offered by default. It should not end like this. ** Changed in: ubiquity (Ubuntu)
