I installed Win 10 & still had audio glitching. This is not a software bug, got working in Mint 18.3 (will now test Ubuntu Beaver.) I have a 3.5mm audio splitter for double monitor set up. The upper one is toast (soundwise). Whether this is due to running full amplification not sure?!? What say

This started affecting me with the kernel update to 4.4.0-112-generic on xenial. I booted the old kernel and the issue went away. Tried a few times back and forth and the 4.4.0-112 kernel consistently has the sound dropouts, while 4.4.0-108 does not. Also tested with 3 different audio cards (by
