I have done an other test with the latest upgrade on 04 the 14th. So I continue to test. I have created a new user and I just changed the option busycursorsettings. That's work. I returned in my session, after a backup, I have deleted all the directory in .local/share. The bouncing cursor is now OK. Then I have restore the directory one by one and tested for each of them the cursor. I have restore all the directory and the cursor is bouncing as I want. So I really don't understand. I made some other test. When I change the setting, the file ~/.config/klaunchrc is change as wanted. Ex for now : [BusyCursorSettings] Blinking=false Bouncing=true Timeout=5 [FeedbackStyle] BusyCursor=true TaskbarButton=true [TaskbarButtonSettings] Timeout=5 As you can see, Timeout is set to 5sec. I am using opera. Startup time (for the first time after login) is about 10 sec. I have tried changing those settings in 18.04, and the startup cursor changes accordingly. Obviously, if you have rapid application startup, it is only there very very briefly. I am not sure of the definition in english In config system --> applications --> start-up witness choices are : - none - passiv cursor - bouncing slider - blinking cursor So when you start any application, cursor may change.
