Very similar failure observed - the 1st page scans, but the 2nd fails.

Errors in logs are different however:

I checked on Sane supported drivers, and your device is well supported
(pixma backend):

"i-SENSYS MF240 Series  Flatbed and ADF scan. All resolutions supported
(up to 600DPI, ADF up to 300DPI). 216mm image width buggy, restricted to
215mm."


Please install xsane and check if you could reproduce this issue.
