Public bug reported:

Kubuntu 18.04
Platform: amd64 on an Intel i5
Kernel: 4.15.0-20-generic
Device: TP-Link AC1200
Router: TP-Link Archer AC1750

I tried installing this driver twice today, once via the Driver Manager,
and once directly from the command line with "sudo apt install
rtl8812au-dkms". The driver compiles, and I can load the module from
the command prompt with insmod. It can occasionally connect to the
802.11n SSID, but never to the 802.11ac SSID running at 5 GHz. It fails
to authenticate with the stored password and pops up the password dialog
box. Entering the password there fails as well.

** Affects: rtl8812au (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
