This is a default feature of Ubuntu 18. I had the same problem and solve
it downloading the gnome-tweak-tool. In the "Keyboard & Mouse Settings"
changed the Fingers option by Area option.

i tested the latest release of 4.18-rc6 kernel but i have the same problem with
touchpad right button.
during the upgrade i have received some info about " W: Possible missing
firmware .. ", full log attached if can help you.

Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer
to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest
v4.18 kernel[0].
