Ok, I changed my mind. After some discussion with the developers,
there's some ideas on how to resolve this.

In the Calamares welcome screen, languages are sorted in the list by their ISO
language name (e.g. Russian, Korean, Greek, etc.) but their native language
name (e.g. русский, 한국어, ελληνικά, etc.) is displayed. Languages with different
localized variants (look at Spanish/español) are grouped
I booted x86 thumb-drive and there are 11 entries between "American
English" and "British English (United Kingdom)" on x86/i686 installer, I
didn't even see "Australian English" (which doesn't worry me anyway [i'm
aussie])
