system-config-printer: Installed: 1.5.11-2ubuntu1

I am trying to install a Windows printer shared via SAMBA.
I run `system-config-printer`, click on "Add", then "Network printer", then 
Windows printer via SAMBA", then on the "Browse" button on the right. A new 
window opo-up titled "SMB Browse", and thw workgroup named "WORKGROUP" is 
shows. When I click on it, the arrow on its left disappear, and the following 
error is issued in the command line

    system-config-printer
    got no contact to IPC$
    Caught non-fatal exception.  Traceback:
    File "/usr/share/system-config-printer/newprinter.py", line 2646, in 
on_tvSMBBrowser_row_expanded
        smbc_auth.failed (e)
    File "/usr/share/system-config-printer/pysmb.py", line 180, in failed
        raise exc

        entries = ctx.opendir (uri).getdents ()
    smbc.TimedOutError: (110, 'Connection timed out')
    Continuing anyway..
