[Bug 1817419] Re: USB ports conflict with each other

2019-02-23 Thread udippel
apport information

** Tags added: apport-collected bionic

** Description changed:

Here I am running a lenovo Helix 2 on a lenovo dock. The dock works
(except of the HDMI output, which is another case and filed elsewhere).

So the dock works with headphones, ethernet and its 3 USB-plugs. However, the
latter seem to influence each other, like in the good old days when an
interrupt was shared.
I run a Logitech receiver for mouse and keyboard on the dock, which works
fine. This is how it looks like:
  $ lsusb

Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub

However, when I plug an external hard disk (2.5") into another USB-plug, the
movements of the mouse and the keystrokes are 90% of the time ineffective,
respectively the mouse can almost never be moved. Here is how it looks like:

Removing the hard disk from the dock, respectively plugging the receiver
into the tablet itself, solve this problem immediately.

- I am using the original lenovo power supply. Therefore I can't make out

[Bug 1817419] Re: USB ports conflict with each other

2019-02-23 Thread Ubuntu Foundations Team Bug Bot
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a
specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu
in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source
packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs
about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your
bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage.
You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode.

To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1817419/+editstatus and add the
package name in the text box next to the word Package.

[This is an automated message. I apologize if it reached you
inappropriately; please just reply to this message indicating so.]
