Sorry to hear this wasn't helpful
We did the installation on 3 computers and only mine was subject to these
errors.
Do you want me to get some extra information from these computers to
compare them to my configuration?
What we you be interrested in? Installed Python packages? Installed apt
I have walked through all of those instructions with the exception of
the parts which require registration on the Nvidia site for downloads,
and I was unable to reproduce the problem of the deleted python modules.
If it was caused by that ppa, perhaps the problem has since been fixed?

You
This part might have something to do with the issue:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:jonathonf/python-3.6
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install python2.7-dev python3.5-dev python3.6-dev pylint

output of dpkg -I python3-chardet: (Sorry for it being in french):

Do you know why /usr/lib/python3/dist-packages/chardet is missing? What
is the output of 'dpkg -l python3-chardet'?
You should not just copy the version from /usr/local/lib; instead you
should run 'sudo apt install --reinstall python3-chardet' to restore the
version which is part of Ubuntu.
--
It is present in the folder : /usr/local/lib/python3.6/dist-packages
but not in the folder : /usr/lib/python3/dist-packages/
Should I simply copy the first folder
(/usr/local/lib/python3.6/dist-packages/chardet) to the second one (
/usr/lib/python3/dist-packages/chardet)?
