Public bug reported: Description:
VFIO (Virtual Function I/O) is an IOMMU/device agnostic framework for exposing direct device access to user space in a secure IOMMU protected environment. VFIO/MDEV(mediated device) is based on VFIO to provide a generic framework for mediated devices simulated by a real physical device. Current vfio/mdev doesn’t implement full iommu support. With scalable mode supported by IOMMU hardware, each mediated device could be isolated and protected by IOMMU. Hence all IOMMU ops could be handled in vfio/mdev (no dependency on the parent device). 7bd50f0cd2fd 8ac13175cbe9 be068fa236c3 Target Release: 19.10 Target Kernel: 5.2 ** Affects: intel Importance: Undecided Status: Fix Committed ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: intel-kernel-19.10 ** Also affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: intel Status: New => Fix Committed -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1835334 Title: [IOMMU] vfio/vfio-mdev enhancement for full-iommu support To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/intel/+bug/1835334/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
