Sorry for answering so late.
I came through the test cases and with real-life reboots with obviously no more
problems than with my own built packages during the last month.
But, if anyone can give other feedbacks, it is appreciated (as the
problem of the original fix had not been detected,

gutsy-proposed, rebooted and all is well. Thanks!

The proposed fixes of avahi (allowing avahi to be used by cups without
segfault — while the current fix consists in disabling avahi in cups by
starting it later i.e. reverting the fix of bug 173470) can be tested
from my PPA (packages version 0.6.20-2ubuntu3.3~ppa1) :

Upstream bug report in CUPS got closed, closing CUPS task.
SRU is only to apply the Avahi patch presented here. For Hardy the
problem is fixed.

Hugues, great, then your patch will fix this problem perfectly in Gutsy.
I will leave the upstream bug report for CUPS open (and the Hardy task
for CUPS), as most CUPS users out there will probably still have an
avahi version without this fix.
