I don't know if these are related: bug/1836237 bug/1847829 (probably not, but it's possible that some touchpad drivers are just bad. Note that the first one affects every input device, including any mouse you're using. Inputs stop working so often that I have a hotkey to disable/enable them - this gets them working again.
